SANTA IN THE CEMETERY

And that’s a wrap!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, turned up, won prizes, bashed the piñata, guessed how many treats, played the raffles, and had their photos taken.

The day wouldn’t have been nearly exciting without support from our local businesses, small and large so a huge thanks to all.

123 pups, doggos, and cats all had their photos taken.

Find them over at the Dogs of Newtown FB page where all the Best Picture entries are up and to win a prize you need to vote and get the votes! There are tons of killer prizes up for grabs this year! Check them out!

A message from the Cemetery Trust

“Camperdown Cemetery Trust would like to thank the dog-walking community of Newtown for your fantastic efforts in organising and participating in the Santa in the Cemetery event on Saturday, and for your very generous donation of $2,900.

As you may know, the Trust is not-for-profit and has the responsibility of maintaining the cemetery as a significant historical place, as well as ensuring that the cemetery remains a safe place that many people in the community enjoy visiting.

The Trust only has a limited income, while the costs of restoring the lovely old headstones is vast, so we greatly appreciate all donations to assist us in conserving this place.

Here is an idea of the kind of costs the Trust could cover with your kind donation: 4 months of lawn mowing; a year’s worth of wheelie bin collection and water for the site; and even the restoration of a single standing headstone.

Once again, thank you so much for your donation, which will greatly assist us in maintaining this important site.”
